Middlebury Museum Studies Program in Oxford
My deep interest in museum studies led to my acceptance in the Middlebury Museum Studies program at Oxford University. Throughout this experience, I had access to many renowned museums, auctions, and galleries in Oxford and London, where I was trained to examine the various organizational, financial and managerial structures in art institutions. By participating in this program, I gained the information about the range of special skills that contribute to museum operation and the management methods. During my field trips, I was introduced to the functions and executive methods of different departments at an art institution. For example, I spent a whole week in Compton Verney. We worked with the marketing team to help them boost its brand and write the selling plan for the gift shop. Besides that, we worked with the conservation team, who instructed us on how to do the conservation work for certain objects, including the Chinese bronze.
